11. Digital insurance records
*If you do not see this page, procced to step “11. General life insurance.”
Note: From 2022, digital files of small-medium enterprise (SME) mutual insurance premium deduction certificates (e.g. iDeCo) and social insurance premium deduction certificates will be provided, but they cannot be uploaded to Workcloud this year. Please enter the information in the subject screen and submit it on evidence cover page as you did last year.
If you have insurance payment data file to upload, mark “I have files to upload” then click ”Next” to proceed.
If you do not have any insurance payment data file to upload, mark “I do not have any files to upload” then click “Next” to proceed.
■To upload
Click “Select file” then select the file you want to upload to the system.
Note1: If there are multiple files, click “Select file” → select all the files you want to upload→ click “Upload.”
Note2: Depending on your smartphone device, you may not be able to upload files. If you wish to upload files, we recommend that you do so from a PC.
Review the contents then click “Import.”
Note: Proceed to 12. General life insurance and subsequent steps to confirm the registered information.
12. General life insurance
If you do not have any life insurance to declare, mark “No” then click “Next” to proceed.
If you have life insurance to declare, mark “Yes” and enter the details shown in your deduction certificate, then "Next."
Be sure to confirm that it is a general life insurance for this year. Separate steps will be available to enter nursing care / medical insurance and private pension insurance.
Note: If you have already uploaded your general life insurance in "11. Digital life insurance", it will be reflected in this screen.
The amount to declare should for what has been paid for this year.
Enter the amount and details. Click the “+ Add” button if you need to declare multiple policies.
Note: If you wish to save your input and exit the wizard, click "Save & exit wizard".

13. Nursing care / medical insurance premiums
If you do not have any nursing care / medical insurance premiums to declare, mark “No” then click “Next” to proceed.
If you have nursing care / medical insurance premiums to declare, mark “Yes” and enter the details shown in your deduction certificate, then "Next."
Be sure to confirm that it is nursing care / medical insurance premiums for this year. General life insurance and private pension insurance are to be entered separately.
Note: If you have already uploaded your nursing care / medical insurance premiums in "11. Digital life insurance", it will be reflected in this screen.
The amount to declare should for what has been paid for this year.
Enter the amount and details. Click the “+ Add” button if you need to declare multiple policies.

14. Private pension insurance
If you do not have any private pension insurance to declare, mark “No” then click “Next” to proceed.
If you have private pension insurance to declare, mark “Yes” and enter the details shown in your deduction certificate, then "Next."

15. Earthquake insurance payments deduction
If you do not have any earthquake insurance to declare, mark “No” then click “Next” to proceed.
If you have earthquake insurance to declare, mark “Yes” and enter the details shown in your deduction certificate, then "Next."
Be sure to confirm that it is earthquake insurance for this year.
Note: If you have already uploaded your earthquake insurance payments deduction in "11. Digital life insurance", it will be reflected in this screen.

16. Other social insurance
If you have not paid any social insurance premiums directly, mark “No” then click “Next” to proceed.
If you paid for any national pension or health insurance premiums, mark “Yes” and enter required details, then "Next."
Click the “+ Add” button if you need to declare multiple payees.

17. Small-medium enterprise (SME) mutual insurance
premium
If you are not declaring any deduction for SME mutual insurance premium, mark “No” then click “Next” to proceed.
If you are declaring for SME mutual insurance premium, mark “Yes” and enter required details, then "Next."
Note: Enter individual pension subscriber premiums (iDeCo) and company pension subscriber premiums in their spaces.

18. Total housing loan special deduction
If you are not declaring total housing loan special deduction, mark “No” then click “Next.”
If you are declaring for total housing loan special deduction, mark “Yes.”
Be sure to have the original copy of the deduction certificate.
Those who declare the deduction
After selecting "Yes," please enter the appropriate method from Patterns A, B, or C below.
■Patterns A Those who are declaring a housing loan deduction from Workcloud for the first time (declaring with a paper return)
You will not be uploading a QR-coded certificate. Please submit the original paper form of declaration as before.
① Click "Add."
② Enter required details and accurately. Then click “Save.”
Once all required fields have been filled in, you will be able to "Save".If a required field is not filled in somewhere, it is grayed out.
Note: You do not upload the certificate with QR code in the "QR code file from National" field.
③ Total amount of housing loan deduction" reflects the amount entered in "Housing loan deduction amount". Confirm and click "Next".
Note: If you have more than one housing loan deduction to declare, use the “+ Add” to enter required information. Enter all the information and click "Next".
■Patterns B Those who have entered the information on this screen in the previous year
The message "We have detected that you have declared housing loan deduction last year. You can copy values that do not change from year to year from your previous declaration by clicking “Copy this” link from the table below‥‥" is displayed.
When you click "Copy this" at the bottom, the fields that have not changed from the previous year will copy the data to create this year's record.
On the screen after copying, fill in any fields that have changed this year. You must enter "Housing loan balance at end of year" and "Housing loan deduction amount," as these amounts change each year.
Once all required fields have been filled in, you will be able to "Save". If a required field is not filled in somewhere, it is grayed out.
Note: Those who submit original paper certificates as before do not need to upload certificates with QR code in the "QR code file from National" field at the bottom. If you are uploading a certificate with QR code (digital file) instead of a paper certificate, please attach the certificate from "QR code file from National".
【QR code file from National】
This menu is for those who started their residence after January, 2019 and requested to receive their certificates electronically via e-Tax when filing their tax returns.
If you wish to receive the certificate electronically, you will need to issue a certificate with a QR code. However, we are not sure how to issue the certificate, so please ask your tax office.
■Patterns C Those who are declaring a housing loan deduction from Workcloud for the first time (declaring with a QR code certificate)
Attach the PDF of the certificate with QR code downloaded from e-Tax in "QR code file from National".
Input of each field is the same as in "Pattern A".
Note: You will not be submitting a paper certificate as you will be attaching an digital file.
① Click "Add."
② Enter required details and accurately.
Upload the certificate with QR code in the "QR code file from National" field at the bottom.
Once all required fields have been filled in, you will be able to "Save".If a required field is not filled in somewhere, it is grayed out.
【QR code file from National】
This menu is for those who started their residence after January, 2019 and requested to receive their certificates electronically via e-Tax when filing their tax returns.
If you wish to receive the certificate electronically, you will need to issue a certificate with a QR code. However, we are not sure how to issue the certificate, so please ask your tax office.
By clicking the orange “?” mark, help description will be displayed.

19. Income adjustment deduction
The contents of the wizard varies depending on income tax bracket and income. Follow the instructions on the screen to check if you are subject to income adjustment deduction.
If no one is eligible for the income adjustment deduction and the contents are correct, "Next".
If there is a person who is eligible for the income adjustment deduction, select "Not eligible" or select one of selections, and then click "Next.
Regardless of whether there is an eligible person or not, if you need to make any changes, click on the blue text with link to that category. It will take you back to the appropriate step to apply required changes.
〈Notes〉
Even if more than one person is listed, only one person is eligible.
Even if you have a dependent under 23 in your family who is not tax-deductible under your declaration, you may still declare that dependent for the income adjustment deduction.(For more information, view "See details").
